What makes it unique

Released 2009 and named Cigar Aficionado's #1 Cigar of the Year for 2011, which put Alec Bradley on the map. Extended-fermentation Corojo 2006 wrapper, box-pressed, triple cap, entubado-bunched filler. The entubado bunch explains its reputation for occasional tunneling. Rewards a few months of rest.

My review

A dark, peppery Corojo worth resting before you light it

I smoked this one outside, and it's a dark, dense cigar. Leather and dark chocolate come first, with espresso and earth underneath. Cedar, black pepper and a little cinnamon keep it from turning heavy.

The wrapper is Alec Bradley's extended-fermentation Corojo 2006, pressed into a box shape with a triple cap. The filler is bunched entubado style, which is where its reputation for the odd tunneling burn comes from.

Give a fresh box a few months in the humidor before you start on it.
